With the holidays upon us, we turned to the Mars Salon (http://www.mars-salon.com/los/) for some inspiration for a festive holiday mani.

At MARS the Salon, located in West Hollywood, owner and designer Hiroko Fujikawa has come up with the quintessential “New Year’s Eve” creation! The nail design features unique shapes, polka dots, and gold accents which are guaranteed to make you the belle of the ball!

Here are the step-by-step techniques for this must-have “ New Year’s Eve” design:

See below for a list of steps:

  • Apply a base coat.

  • Draw a "V" curved line on the tip of thumb with a black nail polish.

  • Apply a gold glitter nail polish on the bottom of the thumb.

  • Draw a "V" curved line on the tip of index finger with a white nail polish.

  • Draw a "V" line between the white lines, and fill with a gold glitter nail polish between the white and black lines.

  • Draw a "V" curved line on the tip of the middle finger, and draw polka Dots between the lines.

  • Draw a "V" curved line on the ring finger with a black nail polish and draw a reverse "V" line between the black lines with a white nail polish.

  • Apply a gold glitter nail polish between the white lines.

-Draw curved "V" lines on the tip of pinky finger.Draw a "V" line with a gold glitter nail polish on the bottom of the pinky finger.

-Apply a top coat. And Voila!
